Poverty and Peasants Life

Unfortunately, poverty plays an important role in the life of Rukmani family when Irrawaddy marries a poor, landless farmer. There has been a struggle for happiness. For the poverty, Nathan and Rukmani wanted to go to city where their son, Murugan, lives. But they didn’t know the circumstance of city. On the way they lost their possessions and money. And they were starving over two days though they got food from the temple. But the food was not sufficient. When they find their son’s address, they saw that their son was not so there and he left her wife with children. It’s not only pathetic but also unbearable. Then when they wanted to return their village, they were unable because they have no sufficient money. So, they tried to gather it and, in the meantime, Ruku lost her husband. Ultimately, Nathan dies and Rukmani comes back her village. So, I think poverty is the first and main challenges that has been hidden behind the social conditions.
